Vehicle Description Terms such as: perfect, flawless, concours, museum quality, etc., are definitely overused when it comes to selling classic cars & trucks, but in the case of the vehicle you are looking at now, I can safely say that all of these terms certainly apply! ‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is very happy to offer you this absolutely perfect 1999 Plymouth Prowler finished in Prowler Purple Metallic (is there any other color for a Prowler) w/ only 255 original miles since purchased...new @ Skyland Jeep-Eagle in Asheville, North Carolina. For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past 20 years, the Plymouth Prowler is a retro-styled production car manufactured & marketed by DaimlerChrysler from 1997 to 2002. Chrysler engineers were given free rein to design whatever they wanted in a ‘Hot Rod’ type vehicle, and Thomas C. Gale’s (Chrysler's Design Director) love for ‘30s-era Hot Rods inspired the Prowler’s retro-styled design. Mr. Gale, who had a 1932 Ford Hot Rod in his garage, approved the rod-inspired Plymouth Prowler as the company's follow-up show-stopper to the Dodge Viper. An early influence is credited to a Chrysler-sponsored project at the Art Center College of Design that resulted in a thesis by Douglas ‘Chip’ Foose, that included drawings of a retro-roadster. Foose originally designed it as a coupe but then modified it to a roadster version. Well as the saying goes, the rest is history. This amazing 1999 Plymouth Prowler has been in collector hands since the day it was sold new, and is in 100% flawless condition in every way! There are absolutely NO blemishes on the car from front to back and from top to bottom. There is not a single scratch, chip or any type of distraction anywhere on the car, period. Even under the front nose where you usually find scrapes, etc. is absolutely flawless. The original Prowler Purple Metallic paint is simply perfect w/ a deep lustrous shine that appears to be a mile deep, and the grey bumpers on front & back are flawless as well. The original black cloth convertible top looks like the day it left the factory, showing absolutely no signs of wear whatsoever. The only way to really describe this car is ‘factory new’ throughout! Even the undercarriage is spotless and looks like it just rolled off of the assembly line (see photos). Open the driver’s door and you will find the original Agate interior that is just as perfect as the rest of the car. Again, absolutely NO blemishes are to be found anywhere inside the car. All of the electrical components such as original gauges, lights, blinkers, AC, sound system, etc., are in perfect working condition throughout. You might say that this is to be expected on a 255 original-mile car, but not necessarily. If a vehicle is not stored correctly & cared for properly, even low-mile examples can show signs of wear & deterioration. This particular car has been meticulously maintained & cared for since day one to keep it in ‘factory new’ condition. Open the hood and it’s only more of the same: ‘simply perfect’ throughout. She fires up instantly and runs flawlessly like a 255 original-mile car should. During that time I have had over 12 Corvettes and during the last 3 years I have been collecting High end classic cars. After working on a friends Corvette I got the bug to get another Corvette. Their site has all High Def photos that are taken by a professional photographer and I found a pristine 1993 40th Anniversary Corvette with only 1,300 documented miles. I went up to D&M and Dave handled the sale. We settled on a price and I purchased the car that day. I desired a daily driver Corvette so I ended up buying a 96 Polo Green Vette with 20K miles on it from D&M Motorsports. I purchased the car through wire transfer (Professional), asked D&M to hold it for a month so delivery could occur while visiting Florida (Personable), D&M arranged to have the Vette shipped to arrive at my place of stay in Florida the morning after I arrived (Proficient). My wife and I arrived at D&Ms showroom 10 minutes before closing on a Saturday. Both Kevin and Mike made us feel welcome and told us to take our time and joked that they would be happy to order a pizza if we stayed late. They showed us several C6s, answered all of our questions and pulled the one we were interested in out so we could have a better look. I had driven my truck, so I showed Mike a couple of pictures of my 2001 C5 and he asked me what I thought it was worth. I gave him a range and he offerred the me the mid-point of my range and came down a little on his asking price. He then offerred to let us take the C6 that night if we wanted. I asked him to put the deal in writing and told him wed think about it and get back to him Monday. I called Monday and accepted the deal and Mike himself delivered the C6 via trailer and and picked up our C5. He had all the paperwork ready and the entire delivery took about 20 minutes.
